Now, we know the great city of Houston doesn’t have a royal family, but we treat all of our clients like royalty in our store.

That, however, is not by accident. Our bloodline crosses paths with that of royalty and interconnects with the House of Savoy in Italy. Being the longest-reigning dynasty in all of Europe, the Savoy Royal Family commissioned Vittorio Valobra (1st Generation Master Jeweler) and his artisans to create works of beauty, fit for royalty. This particular matrimonial tiara was commissioned by King Vittorio Emanuele III (1869-1947) of the House of Savoy for the marriage of his oldest daughter, Princess Yolanda of Savoy (1901-1986) to Count Giorgio Calvi of Bergolo (1887-1977). The wedding was celebrated at the Quirinal Palace in Rome on April 9th, 1923. It was handmade by the Valobra Jewelry-Atelier in Turin, Italy 18kt yellow gold and features 15 carats of old European and rose cut diamonds.

Whether it was tiaras, royal medals, or jewelry of all kinds of designs and color – Vittorio and his artisans put out their best work and created pieces of historical value (some of which are held within the Museo Nazionale Romano.)

Our Atelier or “workshop” survived both World Wars and thrived the years afterward. With a new appreciation for life and all of its splendors – the Valobra family decided to branch out into the world, bringing our creativity to other countries and cities.

As of right now, we have ateliers in the French Quarter of New Orleans, in the River Oaks neighborhood of Houston, TX and in Lugano, Switzerland. Our hard work has never dulled from our prestige, and to this day – we are still creating pieces that are worn by royalty – but not in the same sense as you expect.

With over 100 years in the making, our pieces are still being worn and adored by celebrities at the Academy Awards, the Emmys, and the Grammys.

If you’re looking for craftsmanship, service, and quality at the royal level, you’ve arrived at the right jewelry store in Houston. Not only will we bring the passion and elegance of our forefathers into our work, but the vibrance and swagger of our native Houston.
