Appraisals

We are happy to provide appraisals for items bought in store or your personal items. If you purchase a diamond with us, a copy of your GIA diamond certificate will be provided. Your jewelry appraisal is a document that details the approximate retail replacement value of the purchased item. This replacement value is calculated from current market retail data and usually takes into account the cut, color, clarity and carat weight of the gemstone(s), the weight of the precious metal used in the piece, as well as the craftsmanship. Appraisal documents are typically required by insurance companies in order to hold a policy on these high-value items. Please be aware that our appraisal services are out of the New Orleans locations and there may be times that we must ship your items to that location.

Watch Repair

We employ a master watchmaker with extensive servicing experience and trained in Switzerland. Our services may range from a simple battery replacement to a complete watch overhaul. Minor repairs including crystal replacement, crown replacement, pins, dial changes and case or bracelet adjustments are other services we offer.
In order to preserve appearance and performance, a watch requires maintenance. The frequency of maintenance depends on the model, the climate, and the owner habits. A fine watch will last for generations with routine maintenance. In general, manufacturers recommend having your watch cleaned, oiled & serviced every three to five years. This will ensure proper lubrication of the components and that the mechanism will be free from dust/dirt and moisture. Be aware that water resistant watches have seals and gaskets which dry and wear, allowing moisture to enter causing the movement which could lead to rust and discoloration of the dial and hands.
